Wednesday Singer: Kelis
Kelis Rogers was born on August 21, 1980, in Harlem, New York. She learned the value of music from an early age thanks to her father, an African-American jazz musician and Pentecostal minister. She also learned the value of creating a head-turning buzz thanks to her mother, a Chinese-Puerto Rican fashion designer.
"Singing comes easy to me, but recording is another story. I'm more of a live performer. Recording was something new to me, so I had to get in the swing of that." -Kelis
Long and leggy with curves to spare, Kelis' sex appeal is easy to see. It also helps that she's not afraid to flaunt it, appearing topless on her album cover for Kaleidoscope and posing in a number of clingy dresses for her many sultry photo shoots. Don't get the wrong idea, though: Kelis is still a good God-fearing girl. The daughter of a minister, she explains, "Everyone's walk with God is personal. Only he can judge me."
To give Kelis a grade just post a comment with your grade and opinion about here (the opinion is optional).
